| The Kerriou residence on the 'Pink Granite Coast' in Brittany | |
| We thought it would be nice to showcase this lovely home on the "Pink Granite Coast" in Brittany as it nears completion. The owners are a French/English couple who were living in England then moved to France. They have been steadily chipping away at the finishing work, and have contracted all of the sub-trades themselves. The timber frame is made from American White Oak - as is the traditional timber framed staircase - and employs traditional "jambe-de-force" style French trusses. The enclosure walls are all softwood and the roof system is prefabricated foam panels from France. The house sits up on a hill that provides spectacular views of the Brittany coast line. | |
