The Kerriou residence on the 'Pink Granite Coast' in Brittany

We thought it would be nice to showcase this lovely home on the "Pink Granite Coast" in Brittany as it nears completion. The owners are a French/English couple who were living in England then moved to France. They have been steadily chipping away at the finishing work, and have contracted all of the sub-trades themselves. The timber frame is made from American White Oak - as is the traditional timber framed staircase - and employs traditional "jambe-de-force" style French trusses. The enclosure walls are all softwood and the roof system is prefabricated foam panels from France. The house sits up on a hill that provides spectacular views of the Brittany coast line.
