| The soon to be completed project titled "The House of Good Cheer" is the work of Collin Beggs, he acted as the Designer, Timber Framer and General Contractor. Here's what he has to say about the project: The home is 2500 square feet with a detached Timber Framed garage (not shown in the pictures). It resides on Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint, Idaho (1 hour south of the Canadian border). In the center of the home is an 18x22 Appalachian Half Dovetail Log Crib which represents the original homestead structure. Connected to that is 3 timber frames. 2 of which are relatively small and one that is 24x36. Species used:
This home is my attempt to walk my talk. Craft is beyond a functionary activity that we participate in while at work, rather it defines how we live in the world. It is the embodiment of our dedication to the built environment, where sincerity, patience and a willingness to strive beyond ones limitations is the work at hand. | |
